Puppy Imprinting establishes a positive beginning for you and your new companion. We strive to not just train puppies but to offer guidance with common areas of concern such as housebreaking, basic grooming, leash handling, and crate training. We also educate you, the handler, on how to manage adolescence and prevent bad habits. Each session starts with a focus on the first phase of training a dog: the teaching phase. In this phase, we teach simple commands operant by nature: sit, down, heel, or come. Puppies begin to associate with these every day exercises and "imprint" them on command.

Teaching a young dog to understand our language can be challenging. Neuman K-9 Academy trainers are sensitive to puppies' temperaments and personalities and act both as psychologist and motivator. Our puppy imprinting classes are intended to be straightforward and simple.

Unlike the crowded classes at your local retailer, our classes are small, even one-on-one if requested, and led by a certified Master Trainer. We use a hands-on approach that motivates pups as young as 10 weeks old. We offer written material at each class for you to utilize at home.


House Breaking 101. Easy, step-by-step instructions to house break a dog in two weeks.

Introduction to Obedience. Practical and necessary commands such as sit, down, heel, and come.

Socialization. Opportunities to practice obedience skills in new places and to meet new dogs.

Etiquette. Positive interventions to prevent jumping up on people or barging through doors.

Equipment Orientation. Discussion on choosing collars, crates, leashes, leads that will be a fit for you and your new puppy.

Problem Solving. Direct answers to any individual concerns on various topics such as separation anxiety, barking, chewing, biting, digging.

Cost

Eight Week Puppy Imprinting ($200)
The training exercises are divided into eight, one-hour sessions at a rate of $25 each. You will receive a discount of 15% if you pre-pay for all eight.

We utilize techniques proven safe and efficient and recognized by canine training experts. If any of the programs listed here do not meet your needs, contact us for a customized training package. Our training facility is located in St. Peter, MN - just north of Mankato. We service all of Minnesota including Minneapolis and St. Paul.
